[P1] MageDok 7" touchscreen setup — DP video + USB touch on Orin #369

Goal

Get the MageDok 7" IPS touchscreen working on the Orin Nano as the bot primary display.

Hardware

  • MageDok 7" IPS 1024x600, sunlight readable, built-in speakers
  • Connection: DP->HDMI cable (video+audio) + USB-A->USB-C (touch)
  • Orin DP 1.2 output -> HDMI input on display
  • Orin USB 3.0 -> display USB OTG for touch

Requirements

  • Verify display works at 1024x600 on JetPack 6
  • Verify touch input registers (should be driver-free, HID device)
  • Verify audio output through HDMI to built-in speakers
  • Configure X11/Wayland for correct resolution and orientation
  • Auto-start display on boot (no login screen)
  • Set up as headless-capable — display is optional, bot works without it

Notes

  • Display will be used for Salty Face UI (#368) and deaf communication (#369)
  • Orin USB-C does NOT support DP Alt Mode — must use DP connector
