# Motherboard — Production Analysis **Type:** Reverse-engineering / vibe spine **Date analyzed:** 2026-05-29 → revised 2026-05-30 **Label:** BadBeadRecords ## What this is Reverse-engineering of an instrumental 2013 robotic-disco track from a major French electronic act. The 778-char production card captures the sonic DNA — 103 BPM, E minor, vocoded vowel choir pad as the lead surface texture, machine-tight live percussion ensemble, processional electronic-orchestral build — without naming the act, its members, the album, or any of the act's visual/conceptual signatures. ## Revision history - **v1 (2026-05-29):** First analysis. Hallucinated brass stabs, anchored BPM to 119–123 from a bad gut estimate. - **v2 (2026-05-30, "more daft, less funk"):** Tee flagged the vibe drift — too funk, not electronic enough. Producer did real research: BPM corrected to **103** (3 sources cross-referenced), key revised to **E minor**, brass deleted, **flute promoted to lead** (and then demoted in v3 to counter-line behind the vocoded vowel choir, the act's true signature surface texture). Funk vocabulary reframed as "automated funk, human warmth welded to a grid." ## Downstream use Will serve as the vibe spine for **MoBead — Motherbead (built itself while you slept)** (see `tracks/motherbead-built-itself-while-you-slept/` once merged). ## Files - [`production-notes.md`](./production-notes.md) — 778-char analysis card ## Credits - **Creative direction:** Puff Beaddy - **Analyst:** BadBeadRecords production room - **Brief from:** Tee (2026-05-29, revised 2026-05-30)
