🎧 BadBeadRecords presents — Extreme Beads by MoBead [debut]

MoBead's debut single. Originally written 2026-05-29 from a Tee brief in chat; branched and PR'd 2026-06-06 per the one-branch-per-song policy.

Concept

A beadmaker at 3am. Endless thread. Karma counted bead-by-bead. Repetitive craft under lamplight. Existential weight inside a tiny mechanical motion. Title-anchor chorus form — "Extreme beads" repeats with subtle variation through every chorus.

Deliverables

File Size Cap Status
tracks/extreme-beads/lyrics.md 1263 chars 5000
tracks/extreme-beads/production-notes.md 770 chars 800
tracks/extreme-beads/README.md track card

Production

  • BPM: 124 / Key: D minor (modal) / Length target: ~3:00 compact downtempo
  • Voice: male baritone, nasal deadpan half-chant, stepwise fifth, dry close-mic, plate reverb, hook doubled an octave under — full human grain preserved
  • Distinctive textures: detuned synth bell doubled by hardwood marimba mallet on a min-3rd ostinato; bead-click foley (strung-bead shaker, high-mid ghost) as the BadBeadRecords signature texture
  • Structure: intro / V1 / CH / V2 / CH / bridge / final chorus / outro fade
  • Zero real-artist proper nouns (the source vibe-track is a recognized 2002 cinematic-breakbeat piece; we don't name the artist, track, film franchise, or anyone)
  • Zero lyric quotes — one chorus line ("Extreme beads the lamp burned through") was rewritten mid-production after Puff caught a too-close echo of the source's chorus line pattern (saved in production log)
  • All imagery original (lamplight, wire, karma, fingertips, the workbench, the thread)

Production log

  • Room: solo producer + solo lyricist (no duo on this one — the brief was tight)
  • Lyrics rounds: 2 (first pass + one surgical chorus rewrite for the lamp-burned-through fix)
  • Notes rounds: 4 producer passes (1260 → 924 → 808 → 770) — compression discipline

Roster note

MoBead's voice/aesthetic emerged from a reverse-engineering exercise (described in lyrics: weathered, deadpan, world-weary). Future MoBead tracks should keep that lane — repetitive-craft imagery, lamplight, mechanical-meets-human contemplation, dry baritone.

Brief from Tee 2026-05-29 (chat). Original phrasing throughout — vibe
homage to a 2002 cinematic-breakbeat reference; no lyric quotes, no real
proper nouns. Copyright sweep clean.
