feat(archive): Motherboard — production analysis (more daft, less funk; BPM/key research-backed)
Reverse-engineering deliverable from 2026-05-29 (revised 2026-05-30 per Tee's 'more daft, less funk' note). 778-char production card with research-backed BPM (103) and key (E minor) from three cross-referenced sources. Vocoded vowel choir promoted to lead surface texture, brass stabs removed (hallucinated in v1), funk vocab reframed as automated. Source act, members, album, and visual signatures deliberately unnamed. Will serve as vibe spine for upcoming MoBead — Motherbead. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

# Motherboard — Production Analysis
**Type:** Reverse-engineering / vibe spine
**Date analyzed:** 2026-05-29 → revised 2026-05-30
**Label:** BadBeadRecords
## What this is
Reverse-engineering of an instrumental 2013 robotic-disco track from a major French electronic act. The 778-char production card captures the sonic DNA — 103 BPM, E minor, vocoded vowel choir pad as the lead surface texture, machine-tight live percussion ensemble, processional electronic-orchestral build — without naming the act, its members, the album, or any of the act's visual/conceptual signatures.
## Revision history
- **v1 (2026-05-29):** First analysis. Hallucinated brass stabs, anchored BPM to 119–123 from a bad gut estimate.
- **v2 (2026-05-30, "more daft, less funk"):** Tee flagged the vibe drift — too funk, not electronic enough. Producer did real research: BPM corrected to **103** (3 sources cross-referenced), key revised to **E minor**, brass deleted, **flute promoted to lead** (and then demoted in v3 to counter-line behind the vocoded vowel choir, the act's true signature surface texture). Funk vocabulary reframed as "automated funk, human warmth welded to a grid."
## Downstream use
Will serve as the vibe spine for **MoBead — Motherbead (built itself while you slept)** (see `tracks/motherbead-built-itself-while-you-slept/` once merged).

GENRE/STYLE: robotic-disco / electronic-orchestral, mechanized funk-procession
BPM: 103
KEY: E minor
VOICE: vocoded harmonized-vowel choir pad as lead surface texture; breathy agile flute counter-line; mono-synth threads underneath.
INSTRUMENTATION: modular synth pulses + arpeggios as electronic spine; metronomic plucked bass; staccato chicken-scratch guitar quantized to grid; live hand-percussion (congas, bongos, shaker) locked machine-tight; dry kit; upper string pad.
AMBIANCE: processional, widescreen, ceremonial — automated funk, human warmth welded to a grid.
REFERENCE VIBE: circuitry waking at dusk, woodwind marching neon machinery down a quantized boulevard.
STRUCTURE: perc 0-16, flute 16-32, full groove 32-64, choir lift 64-96, breakdown 96-112, tutti 112-end.
